Welcome to the magical world of DJ Quest.  I have to say I'm really proud and excited to send this mix out because I never cease to be amazed at the diversity and range that Quest embodies as a dj and turntablist.
These mashups were locked in real time by hand pitching records over records... in a world of Ableton, Logic, and Protools, this is fast becoming the lost art of patience and care... the analog path of feeling the mix...

We get few opportunities to really indulge in the improvisation that turntablism is all about.  Watching how Quest uses the technology he has (and he's all about Serato) and every aspect of his Rane (he's all over every fader and knob using every tool he has to effect and manipulate his samples) is nothing short of an enlightening experience.  Few artists illustrate the total unification of technology and musicianship so well. Quest may not like to think of himself as a teacher, but I learn something everytime I do a show or session with him...
So when you listen to this mix... prepare to for some serious school!
