Back in early November, I got a chance to interview Rakim while he was on tour with Brotha Ali and Ghostface Killah.  They were all being backed by Rhythm Roots Allstars - an incredible live band on its own by the way so please check them out!! - and not only was getting to see Rakim live an incredible moment, but hearing a live band play some of my most loved breaks and beats was almost too much. Anyways... Rakim has a new label and sounds on the way and is still touring and doin what he can to keep hip hop a movement that we can still take pride in as listeners who choose to be inspired by our music.  This was done at 2:30 am and we were all a bit done in but I appreciated the thought and consideration given to answering every question.  I was surprised by some responses and I left with a better understanding of one of my favorite emcees of all time.  So if this means something to you then I think you can guess what it meant to me.
